If you're not using the Brave Browser, you're missing out! This is a privacy-focused browser that has many features.
The main attraction is that this web browser is developed with the use of crypto-currency. Instead of cheating websites out of ad revenue since by default the browser will block ads, Brave will share revenue and reward users and publishers with their Basic Attention Token(BAT).
Basic Attention Token radically improves the efficiency of digital advertising by creating a new token that can be exchanged between publishers, advertisers, and users. It all happens on the Ethereum blockchain.
The token can be used to obtain a variety of advertising and attention-based services on the BAT platform. The utility of the token is based on user attention, which simply means a person’s focused mental engagement.
Since Brave browser is based on the Chromium web browser, you get the same features with the added reward system.
How to Use Brave Rewards?
Here's a quick little walkthrough on getting started with Brave Rewards.
Select the rewards button on the right of the address bar next to the Brave Shields button.
Then select Join Rewards
It will begin creating your wallet and from there you will be able to add funds or check your rewards settings.
First things first, go into Reward Settings and backup your wallet.
Click the settings wheel and backup your 24-word seed password.
You can restore your wallet as well if you need to for any reason. Once you're done backup your wallet, you can dive into the ad reward settings. You can select the number of ads per hour being displayed through Brave but the maximum is 5. Ad rewards are paid out on a monthly basis.
You can set whether you want to automatically tip sites, authors you visit on a monthly basis and review the history.
You can also use the added Crypto Wallets in the browser and manage your coins on the Ethereum blockchain such as BAT or DAI stable coin.
You have a choice to create a new local wallet or connect your Ledger/Trezor hardware wallet(Strongly Recommended). You can follow the simple instructions when you make your choice. If you decided to create a local wallet, it will go through the process of backing up seed words and creating a password for your wallet. Then you'll be all set.
From here you can add other tokens and manage your crypto. Then you can get on your way to platforms like Publish0x and fill that wallet with some coins ;)
