Bitcoin will be here in year 2400!
Netflix's Altered Carbon series shows merchandise value in Cryptocurrencies. The story line takes place in year 2400 and surprisingly no fiat prices are seen in the scene.
Litecoin, Pi and what looks like Monero and some other coins are seen in the scene as well (Season 2, Episode 5).
Few 'fictional facts' we infer from this 'fictional' scene from the future:
- Fiat does not have a place in our future
- Bitcoin will remain a king of crypto, at least, as long as our imaginations can foresee
- In future tech-utopia, fiat will be so antiquated that people will not even remember we relied on worthless papers as humanity
This is not the first time Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have appeared on TV and Movies. Bitcoin was mentioned in The Dope, hollywood movie from 2015, people who watched that movie and bought Bitcoin at a whim are now happy campers.
Will those who watch Altered Carbon and buy some bitcoin end up leaving a big net worth to their future generations? Who can say except time itself!
