On a Saturday morning I find myself very reflective of all the events of last few weeks. As a healthcare clinician being wrapped up in saving lives, educating and preventing the spread of Covid has been my mission as of late. 3 months ago we launched 3D For CV and were able to deliver almost 1600 headbands and 3500 face shields to frontline responders. We printed those 18 hours a day with 2 cheap 3-D printers and they were delivered to multiple hospital systems, the Navajo nation, private practices, and many assisted living nursing home facilities. The mission is for us done as we were grateful for the opportunity.
Moving on...
I was going through a bunch of my notes and it brought me back to note that I wrote in 2018 as I was being treated for metastatic melanoma.
I took the alphabet and thought of one word for each letter and started writing thoughts and What that particular WORD means to me. For the next 26 days I’m going to randomly pick one those words and share with you what I wrote and I’m writing since I realized I didn’t complete that task. At that time in my life and now VULNERABILITY continues to resonate so today I’m going to share what I wrote in 2018.
Before I start here’s the list - I challenge you all to consider doing something like this:
Appreciation
Beauty
Cry
Determined
Excited
Fortunate
Grateful

# 1 Vulnerability.
It’s a funny word. We all know we are but we ignore it. We believe that it can’t or better yet likely won’t happen to us. Maybe In some way one is immune. It’s what we do how we are groomed and trained as kids to work, be successful and be a good person. That’s how it was in my home.
It’s strange as each day since I tried to always interact with patients in hopes to help them out then the coin is flipped and it’s you. One patient at a time you hope to provide answers and hope. In one precious moment I am the one that needs the help and support.
Each appt It’s a different perspective and almost in a bizarre way funny because all you really want to hear is that you are going to fine.
All of a sudden what one takes for granted is now not so guaranteed or sure.
Through this journey I am laughing more. That cup of coffee or for me multiple is so much rich and I just don’t sweat the small stuff.
I have learned more humility yet I am more then ever driven to make that huge impact. Be that influencer.
Hugs love and know nothing is a given :). Don’t be that ego that arrogant know it all. Not that I ever was lol . We are all vulnerable and that’s the fact.
