This week Brave had a variety of exciting announcements:

• The end of account linking limits has officially started.
• Solana support arrived on all builds of Brave wallet. 
• Solana Dapp support coming soon to Brave Wallet. 
• The ability to use fiat to buy crypto directly placed in your wallet via Ramp. 
• Brave VPN and Firewall arrived on Android. 
• Partnership with AfroFutureDAO announced.
• Announcement of a partnership with MagicEden to allow for Solana NFT's to be bought directly with BAT. This utility is expected to arrive relatively soon. 
  
  

A further update with information on Solana Wrapped BAT (sBAT) and how to both buy and wrap it is expected soon.

Note that Greyscale also recently announced GBAT, which should help facilitate easier investments into BAT by traditional investors.

General:

• Brave continues to expand on the functionality of their offerings.
• Brave's Wallet gains Solana support further boosting its appeal to users.
• Further exploration of tools/utility for creators are being investigated to improve their experience. They also wish to inform creators to the ability to have their audience add their favorite creator's content directly into their news feed via RSS.
• They are going to try and provide a new update on bringing playlists to non-iOS platforms.
• Recently, there has been an uptick in community members having their accounts flagged. Brave's team believes they have discovered and corrected an issue contributing to this.
• Self-Serve Ad Timing - This is still in the works, but the resources being dedicated to it are now also being split with Search Ad developments and News. Additionally, the exponential growth of Brave has required some resources to be redirected into meeting the new demands on their internal infrastructure/system and further strengthening them. Rest assured Self-Serve Ads are still in the works.
• The community call touched on all of the recent Brave announcements. It also took the time to have a general discussion on the recent bear market and its impact on Brave, BAT, and advertising. This also led to discussion on how the type of companies involved in advertising on Brave has evolved as Brave and its user base grew.
• The creation of a "Brave Hacks" resource is being explored. This resource would highlight new Brave features and more advanced capabilities within Brave's products. Example: A video might show a user how to add a custom source into their Brave newsfeed. The Brave/BAT Community might be utilized for the creation of this resource.
• Brave's new CMO is expected to be on next week's Community Call (5/31/2022) to discuss Braves communication, marketing, and growth strategies. Recent community questions on messaging and communication strategies. While these subjects were briefly touched on this week, they are expected to be discussed more meaningfully in the coming week.
• New partnerships and partnership efforts being in the works alluded to, but none that they felt comfortable announcing at this time.
• During a guest appearance on Based Space's Twitter Space, Luke Mulks, the Brave VP of Business Operations confirmed that Brave is committed to not running both political and pharmaceutical advertisements. This decision was made to help ensure user's have a positive experience with advertisements shown through Brave Rewards.

Notes on the Twitter Space - BAT Community x AfroFutureDAO: 

Brave is doing a partnership with AfroFutureDAO. AfroFutureDAO is trying to connect African history and modern African artists with the wider world. Key goals are helping to share the story of Africa and to help better position African artists to be a meaningful part of Web3. In the process, they intend to amplify and support indigenous African creators. The idea is to utilize their partner's historical archives and make their photos into NFT's. The DAO was started ~13 months ago and currently has at least 91 $AFTR token holders who direct the behavior of the organization. Tokens are currently obtainable on Uniswap.

They are currently doing quarterly NFT drops. Their next drop is on June 1st at 5pm WAT. These drops occur alongside a DAO Twitter Space. During the space, they will explain the various stories/contexts behind the pieces. In the process, they hope to inform people on how Africa's history may impact its future.

They've already done at least 36.45 Eth worth of sales. Most of their art (20 NFT's) has been bought by people outside of the DAO with only 2 NFT's so far being bought by DAO members. The DAO gets around 25% of the proceeds from the pieces being sold.

African artists apply to be a part of each drop and the DAO decides who will be featured based on votes. Artists can provide art of many varieties beyond just images, such as spoken word or poetry.

They also have a private vault of notable historical African images that only DAO token holders with at least 1000 $AFTR can view. Pieces will move out of the vault for the broader public via drops/sales as voted by the DAO.

Some of their challenges are ensuring they sell out during every NFT drop, trying to make sure Africans have meaningful access to their drops, and trying to build the size of Africa's NFT collector community.
