Piestrzenica kasztanowata uznawana jest za gatunek grzyba niejadalnego. I to jest prawda, ale nie wszędzie. Są miejsca na świecie, gdzie ten gatunek jest spożywany. Jest to na przykład Rosja, czy nawet Szwecja.

It must be admitted that even the smell of the mushroom itself is amazing. You would like to bite it like an apple, but unfortunately it is very risky.

Trzeba przyznać, że nawet sam zapach grzyba jest obłędny. Chciałoby się go ugryźć jak jabłko, niestety to mocno ryzykowne.

This mushroom contains a volatile substance called gyromitrin. It is a toxin that can cause a number of gastrointestinal problems, damage to the liver, kidneys, other internal organs and eyesight.

Grzyb ten zawiera substancję lotną o nazwie gyromitryna. Jest to toksyna która może powodować szereg dolegliwości żołądkowo-jelitowych, uszkodzenie wątroby, nerek, innych organów wewnętrznych, czy wzroku.

Jak już wspomniałem, trującą substancją jest lotna gyromitryna. Oznacza to, że można się jej pozbyć na przykład w procesie gotowania. Tak też radzą sobie z grzybem nacje, które go spożywają.

The mushroom can be made edible by cooking it. Volatile poisonous substances are evaporated and the pulp is ready for consumption.

Grzyba można przystosować do spożycia poddając go procesowi gotowania. Lotne trujące substancje zostają odparowane, a miąższ nadaje się do spożycia.

Of course, you must bear in mind the fact that while cooking the mushroom, you cannot stay in the room where this process takes place. It's best to do it in an open space, or even better not to do it at all.

Oczywiście trzeba mieć na uwadze fakt, że podczas gotowania grzyba, nie można przebywać w pomieszczeniu gdzie ten proces się odbywa. Najlepiej robić to na otwartej przestrzeni, a jeszcze lepiej w ogóle tego nie robić.

I am not a supporter of forcefully processing food. Generally, I like the taste of raw mushrooms, and force cooking is not my domain.

Ja nie jestem zwolennikiem uzdatniania pokarmów na siłę. Generalnie lubię smak surowych grzybów, i gotowanie na siłę nie jest moją domeną.
