Our Hotel, very nice and inexpensive

We stayed at the RiverTop Logge Hotel. It was supposed to be a short 2 day stay but we stayed 9 days. Very cozy hotel, few guests and practically empty. Swimming pool available. Buffet breakfast included in the price, great service.

Rum is very cheap so you know what you need for the next day  😉

We go to see the beach, which hardly any traveler mentions

On the way to the beach, we came across abandoned cars, probably once military, from the 1960s, when Burma was boiling, and the military Junta was ruling. As you can see, time did not spare them, the more so as the proximity to the sea and a large amount of salt accelerated their destruction.

They once served local fishermen, as evidenced by the fish-like sculptures on the car's loading area, and also as a local means of transport.

First ascent and a pleasant surprise. There were only a few people on the beach, more locals than tourists, we ordered fruit from a local vendor who was pacing back and forth across the beach. She peeled the fruit on the spot. It was wonderful.

But further beyond the hotel beach there is a different, everyday life

Walking along the beach, we came to a place where life flows differently. Fishing villages where men go out to sea every morning and women dry the fish. Children play whatever they want, and day after day passes by.
