Ripple vs. Stellar - Which one is better?

By Sasha Poet | ABOUT EVERYTHING | 22 Aug 2023

Ripple and Stellar are blockchain-based networks that promise faster and cheaper cross-border payments. Both projects have significant differences.

Ripple is a fully centralized network, with Ripple Labs, which built the platform, owning the majority of XRP crypto tokens. This has raised some questions about the management of the Ripple Network. However, Ripple has reached many agreements with banks and financial companies, which can be beneficial in the end.

Stellar is something more than a decentralized platform, where XLM crypto coins are fairly distributed among customers. This makes Stellar more resilient to changes added by any single aspect. Stellar, however, has far fewer partnerships with banks and monetary corporations than Ripple.

Finally, determine the ideal cryptocurrency based on your specific needs and tastes. Ripple can be a suitable opportunity if you need a platform that is well-established and has many contracts with banks. Stellar may be a better choice if you want a more decentralized network with a larger small-allocated token delivery.

Here are some other things to think about when learning about Ripple and Stellar:

Additionally, Ripple and Stellar can process transactions unexpectedly, although Ripple is usually faster.
Transaction Costs: Ripple's transaction prices are regularly cheaper than Stellar's. Ripple was intended to be more scalable than Stellar. Ripple and Stellar are both concept-stable platforms.
