Bitcoin full node - Part 1

Electrum is mainly a hot wallet and a SPV wallet. And is not easy to use it as a cold storage solution. Unless you are used to use Linux. And to use it in your own bitcoin node it requires something like https://github.com/romanz/electrs What Kraken did is not new to anyone. We know about this attack, like more than a year now. And don't happen only in Trezor devices. Other devices have the same problem. Even if the chip here your seedkey is stored is secure, there is a problem with your backup seedkey. Most likely you have it in a paper or fancy piece of steal that can survive a nuclear attack. If anyone get their hands in that seed it is the same problem that happens with TREZOR and other devices, if it has no encryption. The only way to understand this is to read about BIP32 and BIP39 https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039.mediawiki And play around with Ian Coleman tool https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ I said play around! That tool can be used in a offline machine, but handling keys and transactions in that way is not easy. I consider, Ian Coleman tool, a good tool to learn about deterministic wallets. Not for the every day user to use it as a wallet.
