LBRY, maybe you've heard of it, but what is it exactly?

LBRY presents itself as an online library, where users can find music, videos, and more, but for the most part it's a blockchain alternative to sites like youtube.

What's different about LBRY is that they aim to be completely censorship free. So no more demonetization like youtube, when something isn't advertiser friendly!

Although there is a company behind LBRY, called LBRY Inc, the company has made everything standardized and open source, so that noone can have too much control over the platform.

Users can earn rewards in the form of LBRY credits or LBC, which is an actual cryptocurrency.

What can you do with this cryptocurrency?

You can use it to place comments and tip your favorite creators, so they aren't completely dependent on advertising. But you could also just save up the credits and then sell them!

But what is the platform like?

It's nicely designed and very intuitive, of course it's a little different from sites like youtube, but it will be very familliar to anyone that watches videos online. The only real difference is the crypto part of it.

The platform does need a lot more creators that make quality content though. There are plenty of youtubers here and other great channels that make interesting videos, but it's harder to find.
