A Guide to Blogging on Read.Cash

By Zirbo | Zirbo | 19 Dec 2020

I started blogging for the first time right here on Publish0x, but in the time that I have been here, I've seen many people recommend other platforms as well. Eager to expand my exposure and earn a little extra crypto, I have been trying out some of the other platforms, and so far I've been very happy with all of them, but I did run into some problems that I didn't expect. Many of the other sites aren't as user friendly as Publish0x, or are just simply harder to figure out.

If you've thought about posting on read.cash as well, then this is the guide for you!

What is Read.cash?

Read.cash is a blogging platform where many people write about crypto, but also on pretty much everything else, so it's much more diverse than Publish0x, where a large majority of the articles are about crypto. On this platform tips come from donators that donate BitcoinCash to their fund, and $500 is distributed every day by an AI that reads every article. You can also receive tips from other users that are nice enough to donate a little BCH to you.

When you publish an article, you can add as many tags as you like, and you can also post it to a specific community on the site where it is more likely to get more views. More views, likes, and comments results in the AI rewarding your article even more, and even days later your article will still receive occasional tips from the bot, although you won't get that much. After posting your article, the AI will reward your post with a random amount, based on how "interesting" it thinks it is.

To get into a community you just simply click to join them, but just be aware that each community has its own rules. For example, one could say that they only accept exclusive content, and they might even check to see if copies of your article exist on other blogging sites! After you've submitted your article, it will be pending awaiting approval from one of the moderators. What I've noticed though is that the communities I regularly post to now accept my submission without them needing to be approved. I guess that since I've posted so often to them, that I'm now trusted.

Earning crypto with read.cash

You can earn BCH pretty quick on read.cash! Almost all my articles have earned around $4-$5. Compare that to Publish0x where it can take a long time to get there. If after posting an article you receive a comment or a like within the first day, the AI will reward your article with a couple of dollars worth of BCH.

But there's also a big downside to read.cash.

Since almost all tips come from the bot, you'll have to strictly follow the rules of the platform/AI if you want to earn any money. If you post an article on read.cash and then reblog it on Publish0x, forget about earning any money! The platform wants you to write exclusive content for the site, and if any of your articles are found elsewhere on another blog by the AI, the system might tell you that you've plagiarzed someone, or decide not to reward you, even though it is your own article. Even if you repost it after having it exclusively on read.cash for a while, you can't earn with it anymore, except if the AI makes a mistake. The rest of the rules are very straightforward, just simple things like don't spam people, or a minimum article length, but some of the rules are a bit more vague, this is to prevent abuse of the system, but that also makes things a little bit more confusing.

I don't agree with this at all. Each platform has its own unique following and mix of articles. Just because someone reads posts on read.cash, that doesn't necessarily mean that they also check out Leofinance for example.

An easy way to get around this though is by posting all your articles on read.cash first, and after it has earned most of its tips from the bot, you can then repost them elsewhere. After you upload your article, soon after you will receive the exclusive icon at the top, which means the AI has checked your article on the web and didn't find another copy, then your article can start earning.

I understand that they want to protect their site from abuse and people copy pasting articles, but I wish they could just add some sort of KYC verification that would allow bloggers to proof they are the authors of their articles, so they can reblog their best writing without a penalty.

You can withdraw your earnings whenever you want, there is no minimum and you don't have to wait for a specific payout date.

Ease of use

Read.cash is very easy to use and intuitive, you shouldn't have any problems with their editor. You won't have features such as the Coingecko widget, and it's a tiny bit more basic than Publish0x, but for the most part it's identical to what we have here.

Logging in is a tiny bit more complicated. For added security read.cash requires you to use your seed words everytime you log in, so just keep them close by in a file somewhere.

As far as user engagement goes, there aren't as many people on read.cash yet as other platforms. But this isn't a problem at all, because most of your tips will come from the bot anyway. It does sometimes take a while to get some views or a like, but I don't see this as a bad thing. Most of my articles have been up on the front page for days, where enough people will see them. You won't have to worry about your post being buried under a mountain of other articles.

The platform also gives you the ability to boost your posts, but so far I haven't found it necessary.

The site does have one feature that I haven't seen anywhere else. You can also receive sponsorships from others, but you first have to enable this in the editor of your articles.

Start by clicking on the $ icon in the editor.

Then the sponsor block will come up.

Afterwards you'll receive a notification with the question if you want to add the sponsor block to all current and future articles.

So let's say over time you become a popular blogger, then others can click on the sponsor block in your articles to add their sponsorship at the bottom, which gives you another way to earn a little extra crypto!

Conclusion

Read.cash is still a relatively young blogging platform, that is high paying and easy to use. Now is a great time to start posting there, before it grow so big that it's hard to get noticed.

The bot/AI can be a little bit hard to figure out at first, and this is of course by design, but it does give a unique twist to the platform. The exclusivity requirements can also be a little restrictive, but just remember to post on read.cash first and leave it there for a few days , before posting it elsewhere.
