Hey Crypto Peeps!

The USA Delegation was from the state of South Carolina, and their goal was to learn how the country’s recognition of Bitcoin, as legal tender, is transforming its economy.
This American Delegation consisted of :
- State Treasurer of South Carolina, Curtis Loftis.
- President of the South Carolina Emerging Technologies Association (SCETA), Dennis Fassuliotis.
- and various other Business, Technological, and even Healthcare leaders.
“What we witnessed in El Salvador is very useful in our efforts to encourage more support and understanding for digital assets and emerging technologies here in South Carolina.” - Dennis Fassuliotis, President of the South Carolina Emerging Technologies Association (SCETA)

Curtis Loftis was tasked by the General Assembly of South Carolina to "explore the continued development and potential adoption of bitcoin" and specifically "identify methods to seek more stakeholders across the state while showcasing benefits from the increased utilization of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies".
The Delegation was shown the "My First Bitcoin" education program, that is giving 38 high-school students the opportunity to earn a Bitcoin diploma.
From October 5th thru the 7th, South Carolina hosted their very own conference, called the South Carolina Bitcoin Blockchain Conference, where El Salvador officials spoke and discussed the impact of Bitcoin in their country.
It seems like their is a budding relationship between South Carolina and El Salvador!

Surprisingly, the trip was fully paid out of the pocket of Curtis Loftis, and confirmed that no Tax-payer dollars were used.
This is probably the best part of the whole story! 🤣
“We heard multiple stories about how street vendors have embraced this technology and significantly grown their businesses as a result. While there are a number of variables to consider, it’s exciting to ponder the prospects of how South Carolinians, especially those in our rural communities, might also benefit from using Bitcoin.” - Dennis Fassuliotis

As many in rural South Carolina deal with poverty, it is encouraging to see these officials thinking about how to improve their lives by using Crypto.
On one hand, I love to see this curiosity into Crypto/Bitcoin, BUT on the other hand I am nervous and skeptical that Government officials will handle this incorrectly and efficiently.
I half expect them to embrace Crypto and then Tax it at like 50%!
What do you all think?
