The Stillness

When you read books about the Zen masters or even the Tao Te Ching, one of the themes that emerged (at least for me) is the importance of stillness and silence.

As I shared, I was on a 2.5 week long road trip. It was great. New people. New places. Stimulating.

But, because it was stimulating and I was in a constant state of flux, I found it challenging at times to find moments of stillness and silence.

I did it, but this morning, sitting outside, listening to the chirping of the birds and concentrating on my breath, I was brought back to center.

It’s possible to do that anywhere you are. The key is the practice and the commitment to the practice.

In the stillness lies the wisdom.
