tl;dr: Late and slow to the game, here comes DeFi on Bitcoin
There’s no doubt that Ethereum has shot out of the gate at a torrid pace when it comes to DeFi. Bitcoin, by comparison, seemed like it was standing still.
I mean, it wasn’t even really a comparison.
But, the other day, when I saw two tweets, one from Jack Dorsey of Twitter/Square and one from Muneeb Ali of Stacks, I was reminded of the parable of the tortoise and the hare.
and, of course, the RSK team has been building DeFi on Bitcoin for a while now.
Now I’m not saying that the Ethereum community is going to go to sleep on DeFi, but it is possible at some point (Eth 2.0 migration/upgrade?) that it will slow down.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin, every 10 minutes, continues to just chug along, slowly, steadily, and with confident conviction.
I haven’t spent any time on Stacks or RSK recently, though I know and admire the founders of both, instead focusing on Eth, Polkadot, Solana, Kusama, and Radix.
But maybe it’s time.
