The Last Of Us Part 2: Thank you, PlayStation Now!

I finally got to play it!

Earlier this week, the PlayStation Now team added a couple games to their game-streaming service. Just like they do around the beginning of every month for quite some time now.

However, I was not planning for them to add The Last Of Us Part II.

This game has been on my radar since its release day. Unfortunately, my budget and life doesn’t always permit me to purchase $80+ games on the spot.

So, I waited…

and waited…

and waited…

… then, on October 6, 2021… I saw the title in a PlayStation Now subscription ad. That night, I couldn’t wait to begin sinking hours into the game.

It did not disappoint. Between the different game mechanics and the storyline that hit all of the feels, my gamer self was satisfied. Sure, I was enraged at the times I always died in the same spot because I made Eli throw a fist instead of a Molotov cocktail, but I digress.

This is why I haven’t posted anything lately, on Medium or other platforms.

My creative self kept pushing me to try and write something, but my gamer self was dragging me back to my living room, rubber arms and all. Simply because I had to know what happened next.

Well, between the single-family household covid measures put in my Canadian province and having a longer Thanksgiving weekend… I beat the game on that following Monday; the day I posted this.

You can tell the amount of care they put into this game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a gamer that does get hooked on a game every now and then.

Nothing really hooked me as good as TLOS Part II.

Normally, even with an energy drink in hand, I sometimes struggle to make it past 2am sometimes. This game had my heart racing constantly. At least two nights this weekend I found myself alert at 4:30am before the wave of tiredness hit me like the blunt weapons I wielded in-game.

So yeah… that’s why I haven’t written much lately. Really hoping to stretch my creative muscles more this week.
