from time to time during the summer, a friend of mine and her family get into their old cars and go to her father's house deep in the mountains in the countryside.
There is a 2-hour drive to the summer village and a winding road. You have to cross the forest, pass a few summer villages on the way to reach an interesting, scenic, and secluded village.
When we reached the summer village, there was a mysterious and amazing accumulation of clouds on the top of the mountains, seemingly heading down slowly.
Either way, it was a good and casual day in the countryside. We were greeted by the family, I went up the forest path with my friend and we had a pleasant walk.
Finally, when we returned to the village it was almost dark hours, and I noticed the horrifying clouds had come down from the top of the mountains, and a thick fog was everywhere. Our car did not have a fog light and we had to drive after a more modern car because, in this fog, one wrong turn equals falling off the ledge.
Moving in that scary fog creates a strange feeling. My friend's husband was staring at the car in front of him, and he was turning in every direction that car would make. He had to have faith in that car or else.
The fog mysteriously and deceptively showed us wrong passages. At one of the corners of the road, we seemed to have to turn right, but the car in front turned left. For one second our driver was distracted and my friend shouted at him: What are you doing!? Do not take your eyes off the car in front! Do not be deceived by this fog, otherwise we will be at the bottom of the valley …
It was really scary and at the same time thrilling… But we did it. We got back home safe and the fog disappeared eventually…
