I saw a little video today and it somehow got carried with me throughout the day. It is a short 9 minutes video about something that apparently attracted around 300 viewers to view it, which makes clear to me that I might have entered nerd land lately. It is a video from a group of individuals that have the intention to help other individuals step on the niche we all found ourselves in. Now maybe you already guessed what that niche is, as you are here, reading this. The group is building a DAO within Cardano. And in this short video they were talking about their intentions to solve problems that we as individuals feel we are facing currently and down the road. In my head I spun a picture of people later talking about our generation as the problem solvers. And maybe that is, what our purpose is. If you think about it, we seem to crave to solve things. And it might just be because we have to. But so that video was talking about what we as a collective see as problems that need a solving and where we think the problem is coming from. What is the root of the issue? Personally, I thought of our world as a living thing in general. And we all seem to feel it somehow: we have to do something about it. I was wondering, where do the problems start? Why do we eat unhealthy? Why do we squeeze everything we can out of nature and sell it for profits? Why do we think in such small and narrow ways and forget to consider sustainability as a value? And one thing that is almost always involved in my thoughts when trying to find an answer to these questions is money. Not nessecarely money itself, but its effects it has on us. And these may have been calculated or just happened as a side effect, but in whatever way, it brought us where we are now. It is scarce it seems for most people and we have to work hard for it. Financial freedom is why most people are here probably, it seems a few of us know what it means to be a modern slave to the green bills. So scarcity is a part of the problem, but also love. Love for them greens.

one thing I don't get about humans is the following. I was wondering, what is their value? What do they really value in their lives? They seem to destroy everything, lie, kill, and burn themselves out for something. They seem to have these papers with pictures of humans on them, and they seem to be very valuable to them. I don't get it, but they destroy and kill for it. 

So my answer to the video: I would say that it is our love and fear around money. Because its value is de facto just made up out of a concept, but this seems to have brought us to a point of a collective collapse of humanity. So the love and fear for money, I see as a major issue. And Crypto might be a solution, but it depends. Institutions trying to regulate and ban it, take it over or claim it, yes, that had to be expected. But there is now a way for us to be part of a movement, that can fundamentally change the way we value things. And it seems to be a responsibility we all have to carry, once we get involved in this space. You may make big gains one day, especially if you are new you might have had some juicy months behind you. But a bear market will teach you how fast your funds (in USD value) can shrink and the emotions it will raise within you will be your responsibility, will be your lesson. The cryptos volatility is a tough thing to handle, in both regards. But it might be because of just that, that we learn to re consider where we put our values. People talk lambo and moon talk, but what is its value? Being millionaire eliminates certain fears, but it creates new ones. Being a billionaire might eliminate those ones, but for sure will cause other issues. Think responsibility, power, influence, fear of loosing it. But with the cryptos volatility one might eventually get used to gain and loose massive funds over night, to the point where it might not affect you as much no more. And at some point, it might bring the insight, that its not the USD value that is important, but much more, what you create with it.

The video made me feel excited to do something with this gift we have received, because we can build communities in which we can trust each other, that can create wealth and usability and start to solve modern day issues we face right now collectively. A lambo might drive fast and you might attract a golddigger or two, but what is its worth if you can't buy gas or can't find a mechanic? 

Crypto taught me that I have to find within myself what I truly value. And I do value the fact that we now have a possibility beyond comparison to fundamentally change the world and our lives as well as the lives of the poor and the future people. But we have to buckle up, put in the work and do it. Because by now we should know that authorities might not do it for us. But unlike before, we now can arrange things in a way, that they could work without the need of such authorities or at least with them but in a different setup and with new, different and maybe less drastic tasks and less power. 

I value, that this is a chance for us to save the world from ourselves, but we have to find the strength to change our values. And crypto might be just what we needed to push us in the right direction in many ways. If we want it to.
