Daughters of England
We let you down so much
We chose to look the other way
And left you in the rough.
We stepped around the issues
We covered up the crimes
To not upset the other ones
Your needs were pushed aside.
Your white skin was a beacon
To those who sought to harm
But we put the blame on you instead
Of sounding the alarm.
It is the shame of a nation
For which you bear the scars
When we should have protected you
Our most precious jewels by far.
Sacrificed at the altar
Of our great diversity
Which trumps the needs of native folk
And chooses to appease.
Daughters of England
We cannot change the past
But we vow to learn the lessons
And straighten up our backs.
No more should we be silenced
No more shall we be cowed
We'll put our blessed children first
And speak the truth out loud.
