We have over what is Metaverse, our first written platform, and now it came to our second platform, a DECENTRALIZED WORLD that is a traversable, finite, 3D virtual universe developed on the blockchain and called, can you guess?
Of course, DECENTRALAND. Decentraland is a virtual platform that was created in 2015 by Ari Meilich and Esteban Ordano, and its first usage was developed by allocating the pixels to the users through the proof-of-work algorithm. Of course, this did not work as it should, because the game itself started as a 2D experience but now is the end of 2021, and the game evolved into a 3D universe where you could live virtually.
Little Tokenomics:
MANA is the governance token of the Decentraland platform, and it is used as in-game currency which runs on the Ethereum blockchain, it is an ERC-20 token with Fully Diluted Market Cap of $7,325,892,242 and 1 MANA with the value of $3.3, by the time of writing.
So, what is Decentraland?
Decentraland as described in the paragraphs before is a 3D virtual space that consists of 90,601 parcels of LAND. LANDs are non-fungible digital assets that run on the Ethereum network. So, what are they good for?
Well, LANDs are divided into parcels that are mathematically identified. These parcels are permanently owned by investors and players, and they are all purchased with MANA. It is good to mention that the LAND-owners are obtaining full control of their LAND when purchased. All the in-game assets are tradable.
And it is even better to mention that the game has developed into a community where some parcels are organized so well into themed communities, and they are calling them districts. So, what is the purpose of game development? What can we do inside this Metaverse?
Well, whatever you want. If you are an investor, you can buy a piece of LAND and do whatever you want with it. You could develop an NFT store, where you can display your NFTs which you want to promote or sell.
If you are a game developer, you could develop a game where the other avatars would come to try your game.
If you are looking for earning opportunities, you can be sure that you will find one there. There are a lot of new projects which are in the stage of development and the creators value the first-time customers who are leaving honest reviews. Also, you could earn through promotions, events, completing tasks. The earnings would come to most-in NFTs, cryptocurrencies but since there are numerous developing projects and yet to be developed, so we cannot say for sure.
One thing I am 100% sure of, and that is that Decentraland has a place for everyone!
Is the game free-to-play? Of course, if you do not have a wallet supported on the platform, or you are just too lazy to create, you can play as a guest! But personally, I would not recommend that because there is a chance that you will lose your earnings, or you could not obtain one at all. (I never logged myself as a guest, cannot say for sure)
