Hey dear readers,
didnt do a blog interview for a long time now.
Im proud to present you now a new interview with one of my favourite founders of the wax space.
Chonpa from Cosmos Eleven(C11).
As always have fun, it's a long read so dont forget your coffee while reading it!
1.Dagobertdyck:
Hey Chonpa, we have been in contact now for around 6 months right after you launched your game C11.
Since then, you have been constantly under promising and over delivering. Why dont you tell us first what cosmoseleven is about and how big your team is at the moment?
Chonpa:
Hello Dagobertdyck, thank you for having me in this interview. Well, we try our best and never promise something we can't deliver. Basically, Cosmos Eleven is a play-2-earn football manager game on a wax blockchain. Our team is a family of 8 people at the moment.
2.Dagobertdyck:
Right now we can play friendly matches with our team and have 9 daily tournaments we can join each day. You are giving away 155 wax each day in tournaments. But what we all look up for at the moment is the league feature.
How will leagues look like? How many teams will be inside a league and when do you think leagues will start?
Chonpa:
Exactly, in terms of PVP mode, you can play friendly matches and 9 daily tournaments plus weekly invitationals where the strongest players compete. Our idea behind leagues is that, eventually, we separate players by strength. The top 10 will compete in each league group and all players will start from the bottom tier. Top players will progress to a higher tier, where wax/experience reward will be higher. From each tier, we will take those that win it, and they will play what we call in real life, the champions league. In Champions League, each participant would be rewarded in it, but the winner would take the most.
3.Dagobertdyck:
Your game Cosmos Eleven has the potential to become the most complex game on the wax blockchain. Right now every game is being calculated by total strength of each team. The strategic thinking right now lies in the fact that each player right now has to get revived after 300 games and looses 2/3 of its strength+ the fact that it gets cheaper to upgrade players the more revives he has.
But you have much more planned, like special abilities for players, own stadiums where you can choose your terrain type which suits special players etc.
What kind of limitations do you face right now by implementing them?
Chonpa:
Yes, you are right. We have plans to put stadiums, special abilities, weather, and terrains in the game. Since we all have it on the chain, because transparency is the key, with each info/feature added in our game, it would cost more in terms of CPU usage. That's why we added 20 MS daily for free for our players. That's why most of the games are 2-3 clicks. People should know that WAX space is proof of stake network, and no matter how much you stake money in it, it is ALWAYS your money you can withdraw.
4.Dagobertdyck:
Plus you earn a very small amount of interest on your staked CPU + its money "hidden" and something you can't spend on NFT's by impulse.
How much MS does a game cost right now and how much would it cost with all your new features implemented?
Chonpa:
It's funny that you mention that you can collect interest. Prior to starting C11, i had no idea that you can vote for certain validators and collect wax here and there. You learn on your mistakes. At the moment to log a match we have:
1. Name of home/away manager
2. Score of home/away manager
3. Hash
4. Index
5. RNG involvement of who is the winner
6. Result of the game (numbers)
7. Result who is the winner (name)
8. Timestamp.
It costs between 2 and 2.5 MS. I am guessing with the implementation of everything we have planned, the game would cost around 5 MS. When that happens we will raise the bar by giving MORE FREE MS to our community.
5.Dagobertdyck:
Do you have a timeline on when those special features will be implemented into the game engine?
Chonpa:
Not really. It is an easy part to make it, but... We all know that WAX has spikes in terms of CPU usage, and we don't want to make our game unplayable because of it. We are waiting that WAX space by itself becomes more stable.
6.Dagobertdyck:
What about implementing those features just for league games then?
Waiting for WAX CPU to become stable is like waiting for unicorns.
Chonpa:
We will see what can we do about it. You know we don't promise something we can't deliver.
7.Dagobertdyck:
All right, lets talk about wax in general. It seems like we are in a bear market right now. Almost every new and old game seems to have problems to sell out packs. Most of the flippers and short-term profit scalpers seem to have left the chain.
Do you think WAX in general has a future? Has Play-To-Earn just been a short-term hype?
Where do you see the overall market right now?
Chonpa:
This is a really tough question. Do I think that play-2-earn is the future? I can say with a clear conscience that play-2-earn is the only thing we are going to see in 10 years' time in terms of games. Let's get back 10 years ago and let's take World of Warcraft for example. We know they had a base of like 12 million people. Imagine as a newbie you could rent equipment with real money for raids or PVP. I could see and would bet a good chunk of money that daily volume would be over 5m$. For WAX space, do I see the future? Yes, but we are having a big issue with it. We all know there were numerous rug pulls. Math is simple, those guys that rug pulled hold a lot of WAX in their pocket. Imagine WAX pumping to 0.2 again. Random A that rug pulled will crash it to 0.19. It pumps again to 0.2. Random B that rug pulled will crash it to 0.19. We need to clear the floor first with them, and then we can go to that famous phrase " TO THE MOON ". Let's hope with the next bull run, those that enter in play2earn world will enter in WAX space. I spoke with Jona(Founder of Atomic Hub) about what can we do to stop the rug pulls. There are numerous solutions, but then we are not decentralized anymore, and we all fight here for decentralization.
8.Dagobertdyck:
Well, if decentralization means, we are not holding cheaters, rug pullers and criminals accountable, i'm at least for some form of accountability and centralization. Or smarter "smart contracts". You know what I mean? If the term decentralization means a laisser-faire where we let people cheat, scam and run away with all of our money, decentralization has become the form of centralization we are all fighting against with blockchains.
Chonpa:
You know how I would solve it. I mean it wouldn't stop the scammers, but will stop some. Lots of them are in here for the fast cash grab and investing 0$. You played poker and have you heard of GGpoker site? There if you want to deposit more than 200$, you need to send them proof you can afford it. For example, if i am creating a new project, I need to give proof to Atomic Hub that i have the capital for it. They need to have some expert there as well that will check the github of the developers. They need to put some money in escrow as well etc.
Don't know how much you know about frontend, but when i see a website that is done in wordpress or wix, i would perma ban them haha. I know sammy had one for example and it turns out ok. But it is EV+ to not let them whitelist if the site is done in wordpress
We talked about rug pulls, i have documented somewhere that about 10 rug pulls i know from my head, 9 were done in wordpress/wix.
9.Dagobertdyck:
Yeah, I agree with you. It's not centralization, but rather more accountability which is deeply needed.
Wax is a lot about cooperations between projects and growing stronger together.
What do you have planned in this hindsight?
Chonpa:
I agree with you. Maybe it's me and my thinking, but I don't want to team up with the projects I know it's a clear 1.01 Ponzi scheme, just to get exposure. I don't want to be a guy that told my community to join other discord and invest in other projects, and after 2 months they get scammed. We have our hardcore players, willing to help the newbies and with leagues implementation and wax rewards i can see C11 growing. We have some plans, but under NDA and can't say much. All i can say is that good things are coming in C11.
10.Dagobertdyck:
Football managers are big games since like at least 20 years with millions of players each year buying the newest games.
How much players are right now active each day? And how much do you think will play 6 months from now?
Am I right in expecting that right now you prefer honest, organic growth and that marketing will kick in when league modes are implemented?
Chonpa:
All our numbers are transparent. According to DAPP radar each day we have at least 200 managers and in the last 30 days, 1k managers played at least one game. We have 2.2k registered players. From day 1 we are all about organic growth. We didn't do any shady business on the market such as market making, fake buy/sell from the account a to b and back and forth etc.
11.Dagobertdyck:
All right, what would you recommend new managers and players when they start to play Cosmos Rleven?
How much wax and time do they need?
Chonpa:
Striker packs are bargain now on the secondary market. We have some capped tournaments going-on, and people can earn wax with the free entrance. When they get their team stronger they can buy our native token and try their luck in uncapped tournaments for a chance to earn even more WAX. We always said C11 will reward the activity, so it's up to them do they want to grind or casually play the game.
12. Dagobertdyck:
Last question: when can I see statistics of how many times I kicked your ass in C11 games?
Chonpa:
We don't have that yet. No smart contract is implemented to see head to head, but nice idea, and we will implement it for sure. But here comes a problem again, you need more RAM.
We deleted like 300 tournaments from the start. So we could have like in last 30 days or so statistics in the future.
13. Dagobertdyck:
Always love talking to you. You are very active in your own discord as well:
Let me drop the link here --> https://discord.gg/2EpkGhwUc8
If this interview reaches 1000 clicks, I might write a tutorial of how to play the game on the best way.
Thanks for your time and see you on the court!
Feel free to comment this interview if you like or dislike it.
Until next time, bye y'all
Yours sincerely
