The night stretches on, as I lay awake, My mind racing, no rest to take.
Insomnia grips me, a cruel friend, As I toss and turn, my bed my only end.
The hours tick by, as I lay in despair, Wishing for sleep, but it's nowhere.
The shadows loom, as the moonlight streams, Taunting me, in my sleepless dreams.
I try to relax, and clear my mind, But the thoughts won't stop, they're unkind.
I count the sheep, and try to meditate, But the peace eludes me, I can't relate.
I get up and pace, hoping for relief, But the fatigue weighs heavy, on my belief.
I try to read, or watch TV, But the screen just blurs, my energy low and free.
The night wears on, as the dawn breaks, And I finally drift, my eyes at the stake.
Exhausted and drained, I drift into rest, Hoping for sweet dreams, and peace at best.
But even in sleep, the struggle remains, As my mind wanders, and my body strains.
Insomnia's grip, a never-ending curse, Leaves me drained and tired, in an endless verse.
But I hold on, and fight the fight, Hoping for a night, of sweet delight.
Where I can rest, and drift away, Into the arms, of slumber's sway.
