As someone who eventually joined the APE Army in May, I have experienced ups and downs while watching grotesque market manipulation of AMC as it seems the short sellers keep finding ways to buy time, eat very minor losses every once in awhile, and drive the FUD to prevent the trading volume that will trigger both a short squeeze and a gamma squeeze, sending AMC to triple digits. Obviously, cryptocurrencies are a more substantial, broad, effective, rewarding, and fun means to thwarting old legacy money. Therefore, the move by Game Stop and AMC to create NFTs to build some solidarity across some mildly divided lines (investing in the stock market is rather dubious in general--it's like claiming to be against something to topple it, but one inevitably gets caught up in at least try to "sell out" a bit with those corporations that contribute to the problem of crony capitalism) is ingenious, especially right now.
AMC could actually make some memorable NFTs off of the movie-going experience, with one-of-a-kind deals that enhance both theater revenue and interest in crypto, especially in the exploding world of NFTs, a world that is just starting to collectively imagine the variety of things and events that are not fungible.
With DOGE and AMC charts looking essentially identical this year with the difference being merely that DOGE moves about 2-3 weeks ahead of AMC, the interrelation between meme stocks and meme cryptos is already established. But breaking out of the "meme" label might be helpful to appeal to new buyers who may be shy from investing because the "meme" word somehow denotes passing fads (it seems odd that the label is used pejoratively . . . memes are certainly here to stay as humorous and/or insightful packets of information) which obviously sounds bad in terms of investments. GME and AMC playing around with creating NFTs signifies some much-needed mutual upbuilding for those of us serious about turning the tables on all the decrepit old money that is omnipresent in its machinations and manipulations to take money from retail through any means necessary.
