Creating custom dye cut stickers based on an image of my girlfriend's cat, Cinnamon

Cinnamon the Tabby

Hello everyone! This is my girlfriends cat, Cinnamon. She's a small tabby that was rescued from the woods about two years ago and has since become a cuddly indoor cat. Over the last few weeks, I have been working on a Christmas gift for my girlfriend using her favorite picture of her favorite little furball.

I used the vector design application Gravit Designer to make a design of Cinnamon based on this image. Using the image as a stencil and a source for colors in my vector design, I was eventually able to recreate Cinnamon using a series of overlapping polygons. Typically, it is at this point where I would begin adding textures to each individual polygon to recreate the appearance of fur, but I chose not to in this case. For this particular project, I wanted to have custom stickers made using my design to ultimately give as a Christmas gift to my girlfriend, and I figured that the extra detail that would come with the textures would be a bit overkill for a design that would be 3 inches by 4 inches once printed.

Here are a few images of the work in progress:

Once I had a design I was happy with, I uploaded the design to www.stickermule.com and had a dozen dye cut stickers sent to me. Here is the final result:

I'm very happy with how they turned out. I hope that my girlfriend as well! Happy Holidays to everyone!
