Today I'll share some photos of one my favourite mushrooms - Coprinus comatus - carrying the English names shaggy ink cap, lawyer's wig, or shaggy mane [1]. They have this odd behaviour that soon after the mushroom has opened its cap, its edge starts turning into a dark liquid that sticks everywhere. People say that if this inky mass end up on clothes or on a basket, you can't ever get rid of it. I prefer not to try.

Some claim that the mushroom is delicious but it needs to be collected before its edges startsturning black. The whole cap melts into black ink in the matter of hours. The ones below count as edible, I guess.

The next ones have expired already, and what remains is just long white stalks with black splashes around. References: [1]
