I may be obtuse, some who know me probably think so, but I really don't get this obsession that people have for people that they have never met and probably never will meet.
There was a girl who worked for me years ago who was distraught that Michael Jackson had died. I think that I ended up sending her home because she was caterwauling.
It's all over the news that Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash. I had no idea who he was. I had to ask my wife.
I don't watch any pro sports and there are very few athletes that I could identify in a line up. Nor could I identify very many actors that are younger than about 40.
None of them or their views affect me personally.
A week or so ago Neil Peart died. The only thing I thought about it was that he was a great drummer and that I would now never be able to catch a Rush concert. And I am a fan.
So what I'm getting at is that i just don't get it. What an I missing?
