This is what Gammy, the neighbors and I saw through the telescope last night.

We've got a smallish Celestron Powerseeker 127ED that we have not had much time to play around with yet.

My spotting scope is not set correctly, so I had to use trees and power lines to locate the planets.

I tried briefly to find the moon which was in the wide open but couldn't. I need more practice.

I have an attachment that fits over the eyepiece so I can take photos. I just have to put my phone in a small vice and voila.

Except it didn't work like that. Like I said, I need more practice.

I don't know who to attribute this photo to. A friend of mine sent it to me and he said he didn't take it.

I think I also need to read up on timed exposures within my phone to capture more night time detail.
