Rock Shelf

It was difficult attaining the rock shelf on that overcast, moonless night. The overlook was definitely worth it.

He had a commanding view of the valley beneath.

The enemy encampment was just on the other side of the river and partially obscured. Good. That meant it would be more difficult for them to find him.

There was a small flash of light then a tiny orange glow. It is amazing how far the human eye can see a cigarette's ember.

That guy will be the first to go.

The lighted reticle was just enough to frame the target.

Waiting for the next drag on the smoke... There!

Thump.

The ember fell to the ground.

He shouldn't have invaded.
