"Like I done told that newspaper feller that was snoopin' 'round here before, I ain't got no idear what it was. I seen it was 'bout waist high and hairy. It was runnin' around on two legs like a young'un, but it wasn't.
"I know one thang though. If'n I catch it in my hen house again I'm gone be shootin' with something more than rock salt.
"A little double aught might do the trick.
"Lord help 'em if it's one of them Avery boys. They 'bout mean as snakes anyhow."
