Don’t befriend angry people or associate with hot-tempered people, or you will learn to be like them and endanger your soul.
Proverbs 22:24-25 NLT
We all know at least one - a man, a woman, a boy, a girl, a teen - who is prone to volatility, a person who erupts at the slightest provocation.
How do we interact with these people?
I've known many who would walk on eggshells around them. They would go to great lengths to appease the tyrants often to their own detriment.
I've known others that would give the miscreants a wide berth or even completely disconnect with them.
The group that concerns me most, however, is that which fully embraces the ill-tempered.
One becomes two, and two, five. It is a short road from an angry man to a mob rioting out of control.
What is the result of this tempestuous anger? Violence. Death. Destruction.
People choose their own character. They choose to be kind. They choose to be gracious. They choose to be violent. Mostly, people choose to be apathetic and take the path of least resistance.
To truly be kind, generous, gracious... these are not always easy things.
Above, I quoted from the book of Proverbs. This book is full of wisdom for everyday life no matter if you are Christian, Jew, atheist, Muslim, Buddhist, et.al.
