My mother has told me several times about the wonderful bouquet of castor oil and orange juice that her grandmother made her take as a girl. It was quite like ambrosia from what I understand.

Actually she said it was the nastiest thing she'd ever had to swallow.

Castor oil does have some non-internal uses.

It can be used as a a carrier for other essential oils.

It can be used to help regrow hair.

I have also used it to soothe itchy skin.

In a pinch it can even be used as a medium weight lubricant for squeaky hinges and such.
