This is a case to say "some tragedies come to accelerate development of new technologies" as Corona Virus outbreak could be a reason to release earlier the Digital Yuan. It's can be a major intention from the Chinese Government to prevent the spread and contamination of the virus that is already made deadly victims in a number superior than 2,000 and proven to be the most killer virus from recent times!
The Chinese Authorities already took out of circulation, old notes from the paper Yuan money and putted it on quarantine, putted in circulation new notes, supplying the internal market with 600 billion in Yuan ($89 billion), in measures to avoid contact with infected cash! All this Developments are recalling for issuance of digital money that could be more secure in pandemic times, but also need a well prepared market that is already controlled by the Giants Alipay and WeChat than the Central Bank!
It's certain that the issuance of CBDC could help a lot in transactions during this time and reduce also there contamination and spread of the mortal virus, but that is a step to take with a prepared market as it must be assimilated.
Just to note most of the China is on quarantine, the people are isolated and confraternity isn't allowed, Payments in person are highly forbidden, the Digital Yuan could be very useful, and all those problems are turning the Chinese digital services to supply the market with their services, making Alipay and WeChat two strong services that support the Asian Giant in catastrophic times!
Let's see what happens next...the Government will release it?! Or will wait more?! The time will tell!
