Yesterday
I got a race prediction completely wrong at last! Almost An Angel completely failed to settle in a first time visor and was never at the races. Shane Gray got a fairly smooth ride on Highly Dancer (for David O'Meara) who led from start to finish and scored at 9/1.

Today's Race
A couple of nice races on the card at Newcastle, I've picked the 6.30: a class 5 handicap over six furlongs on Tapeta.

Today's Contenders
Fendale met trouble in running here last time. His career form is the strongest. Trainer is in red hot form too.

Nick Vedder has been in very good form at Southwell recently and has good previous course form (when with Michael Wigham) but his last two outings on Tapeta were poor.

Medicine Jack has been a little disappointing here lately. He's capable.

Pearl Of Qatar has been going very close, comparable on Southwell and Newcastle form. His Southwell run last time looks very strong.

Rebel Redemption for John Quinn has won 2 of 6 all-weather starts. This looks a tougher race than the horse has been used to. Previous win here was in an unexceptional time.

I Know How has an apprentice to help with the rising handicap mark. Four wins over CD and available at quite a nice price.

Hugh Taylor has gone for Fendale here and thus he's been well backed. My choice also, he met trouble in running but still had I Know How behind last time in a good race here. I'm not sure first time visors will necessarily aid either Nick Vedder or Pearl Of Qatar. Fendale ultimately looks to have the class to win this. Trainer in great form. Puchita has been out of form but does look overpriced on Betfair at big each-way odds.
