I have been thinking about how the Bitcoin ETF will play out in the long rung, and had been reading about all of the predictions. The most fitting analogy I thought of was the term "slow play" from poker.
There has been so much written for months, if not years on how prices of cryptocurrency will skyrocket when ETF's were approved. Now the Bitcoin ETF has been approved, and alas prices have DROPPED!
Initially, I was disappointed in this. I then came to my senses and thought about my "Crypto philosophy," which is do not engage in cryptocurrency emotionally, ie, do not invest with emotions. When I stopped reacting emotionally, I realized the Bitcoin ETF approval was never going to go with the emotion of it all. The prices were never going to skyrocket to ATH's immediately, never. What was more likely to happen, and what I believe is happening is that those who engage with cryptocurrency now have a good hand so to speak. That is, if you have bene buying since the crypto winter began or after it began, you have a good hand for the long term. First off, this is not meant to by financial advice. I am just writing my own thoughts and how I think about cryptocurrency and investing, not what I may necessarily do.
I may see things differently than some in terms of cryptocurrency. I see the fall of FTX and the criminal charges against SBF, Binance, and CZ as building blocks in the long term foundation of cryptocurrency in the mainstream. Sure, it likely made the crypto winter last longer (baby it is cold outside today), but it also laid the foundation of trust in the remaining coins and tokens (I know, I know, not all). I know the market will skyrocket for real and solid coins and tokens, ones that are not fraudsters and snake oil (to use an old term). I also know that the market does not care about those selling the news and their made up timeline. I lost site of that for a bit, but have found my way back to solid footing once again.
I am going to slow play my good hand (my stable of cryptocurrency) into increased financial wealth. I am hoping to make at least one USD, if not a million or more USD. I wrote a while back that if all of my coins and tokens averaged $32 I would make one million dollars, now that number is lower due to some highly timely investments. Again, nothing I am writing about it to provide you the reader with financial advice, it is only to write about my process of learning about and enjoying cryptocurrency.
Within the next year, we will begin to reap the benefits of the pain of the past two-years in crypto winter. I mean, sometimes, healing hurts worse than the injury itself. But once you get past the worst of it, things are better than ever. I believe we are on out way to that payoff. I am going to slow play my good hand.
