I have been thinkin about what I am thankful for in regard to cryptocurrency at Thanksgiving.
The first thought that comes to mind is that I finally developed an open mind enough to allow myself to learn about cryptocurrency. In larger part due to a supportive family (I am thankful for them as well). I mean, when I first heard about cryptocurrency I had thoughts of "it is monopoly money" and it is a "fraud and a scam." I have to say, with a lot of reading and research, I do not believe it is a scam, although there are scams available if you do not do your due diligence.
Secondly, I am thankful for the timing of me getting involved in cryptocurrency. At the time I got involved, it was past the ATH of November 2021. So I was then (by shear luck) able to avoid buying in at ATH's and losing a lot of money. I got involved when most of the prices were well off of the ATH's for most cryptocurrency.
Thirdly, I am thankful for the longer term bear market. This allowed me to buy more at lower and lower prices. I know it is not all about the prices and profit, I do not expect to make a profit, and understand I may be wrong and all cryptocurrencies go to ZERO. I do not think it will happen, as it is more and more intertwined in the fabric of society. I am enjoying the ride as far as learning, growing, and understanding the technology and importance of it.
Lastly, even though it was not good news over the past year or so, I am thankful they are weeding out what I like to call the "fraudsters" in cryptocurrency. A solid foundation is being built slowly, and this is a good thing for the future!
Outside of cryptocurrency, I think the future is bright and I am thankful for that!
