One year into my crypto journey!

One year into my crypto journey!

I have to say approximately one-year ago I began my crypto journey.

I was sitting there after a friend had died. I was pondering life. I was thinking back to the times we had, growing up and moving forward.

I thought cryptocurrency was a joke, monopoly money, something not for me. Then, the death of my friend had me challenging myself on what I thought I knew, and what I want for the future.

The "thought turning point" for me was in regard to how many others, and particularly smart individuals believed, and maybe more importantly,  spent their own money on cryptocurrency. I started to think back to missing the invention of the internet and the dot.com boom. I missed that and did not particularly think it would be as big as it was. In hindsight, that thinking was silly, but it was my thinking. I likened my similar thoughts about cryptocurrency and how I felt the same way.  I determined to not be left behind again.

So, around this time last year, I signed up for Publish0x. I began reading others thoughts on cryptocurrency. I began challenging my thinking. I decided not to let emotions rule how I felt about cryptocurrency.

My first excitement (not investment) was reading about Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.  I mean, at one point in the recent past if you invested TWO DOLLARS in Shiba Inu, you would (at least temporarily) been a millionaire.  WOW. However, I would not let my emotions make poor decisions. You cannot get the same out of this world return if that out of this world return already happened.  So I kept reading and learning.

It took about six months for me to invest in some cryptocurrencies. I tended to go for ones with a solid foundation (as far as I could tell). I stayed away from the "snake oil salesman," the ones who promised too much. That is why I love Cardano so much. I love the foundation and patience they are showing.  That statement is not investment advice, just my opinion on how it is a really solid venture.

I have invested in approximately 10 to 15 cryptocurrencies. Some are a real solid bet, and some are more of the home run type. I put more into ones that I feel are solid, and less of my own capital into the home run types.  I only invest what I can lose, something that is slower than my emotions would like, but a wise decision just in case cryptocurrency turns out to be monopoly money and a scam. All I would lose would be something  I could afford to lose, and the loss would be chocked up to a form of entertainment expense.

I am enjoying the ride so to speak. I love learning about cryptocurrency, and am looking forward to the years to come.

My friend taught me to live life, because you never know when it ends. I am enjoying the ride, living life more fully, and, if I get lucky, I can retire early!

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
