Oh, The Places You Will go!

Oh, The Places You Will go!

When I worked in a residential treatment center for children, I first learned about this Dr. Seuss book.  We gave it to the youth as they had graduated treatment and were better able to take control of their lives. We would write messages to them as they moved on with their life to bigger and better things.

I had thought about that time in my life, and that book when I was thinking about my crypto journey.  Two years or so ago, I would not have imagined I would be into cryptocurrency. I would not have imagined I would have been willing to learn anything about it. I was afraid then (Not in a literal sense) of what crypto was. I thought it was a scam, I was unsure of it, and of myself at that time in terms of financial understanding. As I have learn and grown in terms of cryptocurrency understanding, I have come to realize I can go a lot of places when I challenge myself. Something like we wanted those youth to do year ago.

I have to say, I have been lucky, through no fault of my own that I got into cryptocurrency in a bear market. I am happy I did not buy the hype, that I took a slow and steady approach to learning and then investing. Again, something we taught those kids years ago.

Now, As I sit hear writing this, I am up nearly 100% on my investment in cryptocurrency.   That is even with the recent weekend market correction of nearly 20%.

The funny thing is about reading and learning about cryptocurrency is I found a win in Bitcoin, which seems to be a no brainer. I also (which I was very skeptical about) found a winner in Solana at 22, though I wish I had come to my senses about Solana even sooner when it was under 10. Oh well, you live and learn.  I also found some winner's with Polkadot, Ethereum, and Wrapped Ampleforth.

However, the big winner that I have found so far in terms of ROI has been Cardano. I have heard and read about how Cardano is not worth it in many ways. I have read their slow and steady academic approach turns people off. To be honest, those are the reasons I believe in it.

Now, If I can talk about the wins, I have lost some as well. I am still down with Algorand, although not by much and expect it to be a winner in the long run. I also am down on Jasmy, more because of the timing of my initial investment than anything else. I expect in the long run Jasmy will be my biggest winner by far.  Simply because of who is backing it, and how low the price is.

Again, I do not know what the future holds. I have to say, nothing about his post is investment advice. Just my personal thoughts on the cryptocurrency space, my own investments and successes and losses so far.

Oh the places I have been, I am looking forward to the places I will go.

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
