I have been thinking about where cryptocurrency will go from her. It has been a tough go of it in 2022. I am hopeful for the future of cryptocurrency.
Multiple countries have already legalized cryptocurrency. Here is a list: https://money.com/cryptocurrency-legal-status-by-country/#:~:text=In%20June%202021%2C%20El%20Salvador,challenge%20for%20the%20Salvadoran%20government.
In five years, I think cryptocurrency will be even more widespread. I am not sure this would be the consensus from the general population, but I think it happens. I also think there will be a period of relative world stability in five years. I think the Russia-Ukraine conflict/war will be over. I also think the China/Taiwan issue will be (relatively) settled. Also, in the US, there will be a new president (two years from now), which will bring in some stability. I think the midterms have shown former President Trump is done. I am not picking political sides, I just think he rhetoric overshadowed everything else.
Five years from now Bitcoin will either be over $500,000 or worth nothing. Neither would surprise me. I also think there will be a paring down of the number of cryptocurrencies, exchanges, and altogether a policing of the predators in the space like FTX and those who ran it, or even Terra Luna.
Finally, I believe some cryptocurrencies, that are virtually worth little now, will be worth a lot. Other countries have some solid cryptocurrencies that are going to take off (here's to you Japanese Bitcoin Jasmy). Also, I think Cardano will do a burn, which will significantly reduce supply and increase value. It has a chance to be the number one cryptocurrency in five years.
Finally, In five years, if I am lucky, and if the premise that buying into cryptocurrencies with solid foundations is the way to go, I may become a crypto millionaire!
