Coinbase leaving the US?

Coinbase leaving the US?

I have been out with some family business for a week or two. Thanks for sticking with me as I am on the crypto learning journey.

I signed up for Coinbase because it was regulated and approved to operate in the US.

Now, Given how dysfunctional the US government is, they are missing the boat in managing cryptocurrency.

I mean, come on, it is obvious cryptocurrencies are not securities, or at least the vast majority are not.

The EU recently passed sensible cryptocurrency regulation: one article found here: https://protos.com/digital-euro-plan-moves-europe-further-ahead-of-us-on-crypto-regulation/ discusses it.

Now, I have read that Coinbase is getting ready to leave the US: https://www.investopedia.com/coinbase-could-leave-us-7482077#:~:text=The%20exchange%20began%20winding%20down,the%20SEC%20in%20late%20March.

I have to say, the US lawmakers seem to be acting like senseless idiots trying to manage image and not the country. The country needs sensible legislation for cryptocurrency. It is past overdue, and  I know my article won't change the incompetence, but it is frustrating.

I wonder what will happen to my investment if Coinbase does leave the US. Hopefully nothing, but maybe something? Maybe, by leaving the US they will become more profitable, and my investment will be more secure. Who knows, but it is frustrating.

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
