I have been saying this for a long time now, that Cardano is a commodity, and that in the long run it will deemed so.
Well, apparently a few days a ago Indonesia classified Cardano (ADA) as a commodity. https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2023/06/cardano-ada-now-recognized-as-commodity-by-4th-most-populous-country-says-prominent-crypto-analyst/
Again, I fully believe when all the posturing in the US, Cardano will be classified as a commodity as well. The problem will be the FUD along the way. In my opinion, the classification of Cardano in Indonesia, apparently the world's fourth largest country by population is that it makes the political manipulation in the US much more difficult to pull off. I have posted about the SEC and Coinbase recently and how Coinbase has been trying to get things classified and regulated and how a court of appeals had to intervene to force the SEC to respond to a request made by Coinbase back in 2022.
Cardano is and will be even more decentralized, it will not be controlled by one institution, and will not go away if IOG goes away. That right there means it cannot be a security. I don't care if people do or do not like Cardano (I don't write this as investment advice), I write about it because we need fair treatment under government institutions. We need all cryptocurrencies to be treated fairly regardless of whether we invest in them or not for the market to mainstream. When this happens, any early investor will be rewarded!
