I came across this article last week, and actually had it written last week but forgot to post in due to being very busy. So here it is a week late.
The article talks about Ripple's CEO's reaction to the news that the SEC retracted it's request to classify cryptocurrencies such as Cardano and Solana are securities: https://thecryptobasic.com/2024/07/31/ripple-ceo-highlights-new-evidence-of-sec-hypocrisy/
If you have read some of my previous posts, I have shared my belief that most if not all cryptocurrencies are not securities. Please feel free to read my archives. Now, I think this is a move in the right direction, as I think the SEC has been S'ing the bed when it comes to cryptocurrencies, and that they have been reactionary given the FTSX debacle left them with some egg on their face so to speak.
I write this not to be critical of the SEC. On the contrary, I think this was one of the wisest moves they have made for some time, if ever in terms of how they are handling cryptocurrencies. Here's to the SEC for this move.
IN the bigger picture, I think there is a lot of evidence that regulatory clarity is coming sooner rather than later for cryptocurrency. I know those that like to think of cryptocurrency as counterculture will not like it, but I believe it brings cryptocurrency to the mainstream in a safe way, and for those that are early adopters, it will pay off in many ways.
