Now, I am not sure if any of you have ever been in temperatures that cold before. It is something to experience before you die.

The first time I remember it being so cold they shut down the  state, was in 1996. I was in college at the time (yes I am old). As far as memory services, it was in the -40 degree Fahrenheit at that time. Now, the kicker is the wind chill. There is something called the "feels like" temperature. As far as I cold tell, with wind chill the "feels like" temperature last night overnight was -40 or -50 degrees Fahrenheit. In 1996, if I recall correct the -40 or -50 was not a "feels like" temp.

There are some awesome videos of people taking boiling water outside in those temperatures and watching it evaporate. That is fun. Other cold weather fun activities can be run from the hot tub and jump in the snow.  Woo hooo!!!

Apparently. frostbite can happen within five to ten minutes at those temperatures.

I just had to comment on the temperature at home today, it is something beautiful and dangerous to behold.

Here to the crypto dream of financial independence so I can skip future winters in the north to move (for the winter) to the south where it does nto get so darned cold.
