There is a limit to the freedom of free will

The idea that we have free will is something that can make us reflect a lot, after all, are we really free? Do we really have the power to make choices? Well, in my opinion, we are not free, not completely, there is always some rule or regime over us, something that makes us follow rules and that is not such a bad thing either. I think that without rules we would live in anarchy, so that everyone could do whatever they wanted, that is astonishing, we would certainly live in a chaotic world, which could lead to death and destruction of everything.

We have the chance to make some choices, that is obvious, we are free to decide many things, especially in adulthood, when we start to distance ourselves a little from our parents, our family and seek our own path, many decisions are made, right or wrong, everything becomes an experience for us and with that, we learn to make good decisions and make good choices in our lives. Even so, we are still not free, there is the government, the rules, constitutions, laws, all of this means that, at some level, you will not have complete freedom to do whatever you want.

Reinforcing the rules part, this is what protects us from anarchy, from unbridled madness, because, if with the rules some places are already taken over by bandits, deaths, robberies, terrorists and so many other negative things, imagine if there were no rules? If free will were taken literally? This would certainly cause a lot of headaches for many people, bad thoughts, attitudes taken to the extreme, all of this would be a disaster. Imagine a land without law, where the simple fact of someone stepping on your foot would be a death sentence, he would take revenge for it and that would be it for you without rules and laws.

So, we are not totally free, that is something obvious, but doing away with all rules and laws would also be crazy! Therefore, my point of view is that we should just try to enjoy this time in life that we have here, do our best, pursue our dreams and goals and try to live well, as much as possible, build a family, have good friends, fight for a good job, that's the way of life here. The system is so big that one person or even a group of people, an entire country, may not be able to change anything about it.

That's why I live life as lightly as possible, there are rules that we have to follow and that's it, we're not going to change them, maybe the politicians in my country will change something for the better, or maybe they won't, there's no way of knowing, especially because Brazil is a country that is going through a horrible time with an even more horrible government, but what can we do? We can protest, we can demand, but everything must be done within the rules. Even though we have the free decision to choose to do even the wrong thing to get to the right, the consequences will appear for us.

Finally, one last example is Hive. Here, even though we share that it is a free network, resistant to censorship and things like that, we are not completely free either. There are powerful people who dictate the “rules of good coexistence” here. Can I conflict with them? I can, I am free to do so, but I would also have to accept the consequences of that later. We are not free here either, because if we were free, we could do whatever we wanted and no consequences would be applied, but that is not how it works. Anyway, the best thing is to just enjoy life and enjoy the limits of the freedom we can have.
