Theta expands US accounts by onboarding Syracuse University (SU)

This University was established in 1870 with roots in the Methodist Episcopal Church, but has been nonsectarian since 1920. It is a leading US research University which currently has enrollment about 23,000 student. The average annual tuition is $63,000.
What happened?
On the heels of Crypto.com's partnership with Theta, Syracuse University partnered with Theta EdgeCloud to enhance their Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and inferencing theory work.
projects led by Assistant Professor Junzhe Zhang, focusing on causal inference and reinforcement learning.
The platform is used by Professor Zhang’s lab to advance research in causal inference, fairness analysis, and generative models. It supports workloads such as large language model training, counterfactual reasoning, and reinforcement learning simulations.
Who is Junzhe Zhang
is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University. And he has a very impressive list of credentials for example at Columbia University he was a postdoctoral research scientist in the Causal AI Lab. Having work recognized by premier organizations such as AAAI, ICML ICLR, NeurIPS just to name a few
Junzhe Zhang Work focuses upon
AI of course and more specifically, fair decision-making systems (i.e., agents) in scenarios where data is biased, incomplete, or affected by distributional shifts. Now while leveraging EdgeCloud’s hybrid GPU infrastructure, the SU lab is able to conduct large-scale experiments in counterfactual reasoning, causal representation learning, and off-policy learning.
Summary
It makes sense that Theta and Syracuse University would partner up. Both have a long history of research and now they can help each other strive and achieve even higher levels of success together.
