LG Picked Hedera Blockchain for Television NFTs
LG the consumer electronics firm, which has served on The Hedera Governing Council since 2020, is bringing NFTs to television screens through a platform built on the Hedera network.
LG non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace called LG Art Lab that plugs into the Hedera Network, which LG supports.
LG marketplace is accessible from the LG home screen and enables people to buy, sell, and trade NFTs from the comfort of their homes.
Where are Transactions performed for these NFTs? LG Art Labs transactions are handled by Wallypto,
Hedera uses an alternative distributed ledger system (DLS) to blockchain called hashgraph, which boasts top speeds, high-functionality smart contracts, high energy efficiency, and costs fractions are super low, roughly a penny a transaction.
Why did I say LG picked lesser Blockchain? I am a Theta fanboi and Samsung has been a long supporter and investor in Theta, I have more faith in Theta than I do Hedera. Who knows I could be wrong!
Additionally, Samsung released NFTs on three of its TVs, all supported by Nifty Gateway. If you missed my article on Nifty gateway check here https://www.publish0x.com/new-to-cryptos/nifty-gateway-nfts-galore-xqmxlky
Summary - sure I am biased towards Theta over Hedera and it seems that consumer TV makers are going to go head to head offering TV NFTs. Either way I see both South Korean consumer electronic firms bringing competition and new utility to NFTs.
Disclaimer - I am not an employee nor an agent of Hedera nor Theta, although it sounds super exciting!
