What Crypto Trading Taught Me About Patience, Discipline, and Life

I like to think that there are important lessons learned in crypto, or to be more direct, in the act of trading crypto. Trading in the crypto markets has taught me some important lessons, for sure. Some of the lessons learned are harder than others. Some people never learn the lessons that crypto trading is supposed to teach. I believe patience is one of the biggest, but definitely not the only lesson crypto is supposed to teach. Crypto traders want their trading experience to go their way all the time because, let's face it, people love to win.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to win in the crypto investment game because that's what it is—a game. However, if making gains every time you trade is your primary goal, there's going to be some hard lessons coming. It is better to understand the crypto trading game than to play it like an amateur. One must learn to act and behave like a professional while trading cryptocurrency. Even if you don't think you're a professional crypto trader, acting as such changes the mindset you'll need to make better trading decisions.
Now, what you've just read may sound like a contradiction, but such is life—full of contradictions. Here's why: holding a dual crypto trading mindset is important. The duality is fun/professional.
Think of it like being a professional athlete. You're playing a game that, if you get really good at it, could potentially make you a great deal of money. However, you can't be the athlete who can't control his money psychology on the way to professionalism, or the one who loses focus because he's partying too hard instead of training.
You get my drift.
People who make bad decisions in crypto trading—and this may be hard to swallow—most likely make bad decisions in life. The crypto trading game requires a certain level of maturity, and that maturity helps ensure that your mindset is actively moving in a manner where you should be winning more than losing; that you are holding when you should, buying the dips when you should, and taking profits when you should.
Learning to trade crypto isn't about sucking the fun out of the process, so if crypto trading is stressing you out, you may be looking at it the wrong way. If you are experiencing higher-than-normal stress when you think about trading the crypto markets, maybe you've lost the meaning behind what trading digital currency is. Crypto trading is about finding balance between fun and stress, winning and losing.
When I'm trading, buying, selling, earning, or losing, it all means about the same to me emotionally. Trading crypto, to me, is like playing a game that sometimes requires me to think like a professional while at the same time not losing sight of the idea that it's all fake money anyway.
Think about it. No, seriously, think about it. Crypto isn't really anything but a bunch of ones and zeros being moved over a digital network. How can you take that seriously? You can't.
Until next time, trade well, but have fun!
