Crypto Is Trying to Recover — But Traders Still Aren't Convinced

By The Finance Edge | The Finance Edge | 6 hours ago

For a moment, it looked like crypto was finally waking up.

Bitcoin pushed back toward $64,000.

The market stopped bleeding.

And some of the pressure from last week started to fade.

But there's a problem.

Traders still don't seem convinced.

Bitcoin is hovering around the $63K–$64K area, while analysts are watching $64,000–$64,095 as an important level that buyers need to reclaim before the recovery starts looking more convincing.

And honestly, I understand the hesitation.

This Doesn't Look Like a Real Breakout Yet

I've seen this happen before.

Bitcoin falls.

Everyone gets nervous.

Then it bounces a little.

Suddenly, people start talking about a recovery.

But a bounce isn't necessarily a recovery.

Sometimes it's just a bounce.

That's why I'm not getting too excited about Bitcoin's recent move.

The price needs to prove something first.

Right now, Bitcoin is still struggling to get back above the levels it lost during the recent sell-off.

And until that changes, I think traders have a reason to stay cautious.

The $64K Level Matters

This is probably the number I'd keep an eye on.

Bitcoin has been moving around $63K, but getting back above $64K could give buyers some confidence.

The problem?

Bitcoin has already tried to recover several times.

And each time, the momentum hasn't lasted very long.

That's frustrating if you're bullish.

You see the price going up and think, "Finally."

Then a few hours later, the market gives those gains back.

That's exactly the kind of price action that makes traders hesitate before jumping back in.

There Are Still Reasons to Be Careful

One of the biggest problems is ETF demand.

Recent data showed U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded three consecutive sessions of net outflows, totaling roughly $248 million from August 12 through August 14.

That's not something I'd ignore.

It doesn't mean institutional investors have suddenly abandoned Bitcoin.

Three days isn't enough to make that conclusion.

But if you're looking for evidence that a powerful new wave of buying has arrived, the ETF numbers aren't giving you much confidence yet.

And that's probably one reason traders are hesitant.

The Market Is Waiting for Confirmation

This is what makes the current situation interesting.

Bitcoin isn't collapsing.

But it isn't convincingly recovering either.

It's stuck somewhere in the middle.

And markets can stay like that for longer than we expect.

The latest price action suggests Bitcoin is consolidating around the $62K–$63K area, while $64K–$65K remains the zone buyers need to reclaim to make the recovery look stronger.

Personally, I'd rather see Bitcoin move slowly and build a solid base than suddenly jump 5% and give everything back the next day.

A boring recovery can actually be healthier.

There's Still a Bigger Question

What happens when the next piece of bad news arrives?

That's what I'm wondering.

Bitcoin has struggled to rally strongly even when some macro conditions have improved.

Markets are also still dealing with uncertainty around U.S. crypto regulation, ETF flows and geopolitical risks.

So the market has plenty of reasons to hesitate.

And until those worries start disappearing, I don't think traders will suddenly become extremely confident.

I'm Not Calling This the Bottom

Maybe this is the beginning of a recovery.

Maybe Bitcoin eventually pushes above $65K and starts another leg higher.

I wouldn't rule it out.

But I also wouldn't call the bottom just because Bitcoin bounced.

For me, the next few days are more important than one green candle.

Can Bitcoin reclaim $64K?

Can it hold above it?

Can buyers push through $65K without immediately getting rejected?

Those are the questions I'd rather answer before getting excited.

Because right now, crypto is trying to recover.

But the market hasn't earned everyone's trust back yet.

And maybe that's exactly what Bitcoin needs to do next.
