a defi protocol got smoked again and i'm not even surprised anymore, i just refill my coffee and watch the chaos.
ostium, this perp dex on arbitrum trading stuff like gold and forex, got its oracle system straight up gamed.
someone found a way to feed the protocol fake future dated price reports.
basically told the contract "trust me these trades already won" and the contract said bet.
the result, roughly $18 million drained straight out of the liquidity vault.
that's like a third of what the whole vault was holding, gone in one looped transaction.
ostium had to pause trading and put out the classic "we are aware, we are investigating" post while everyone in the replies panic sold their vibes.
this is like the fifth oracle/keeper exploit this year and every time it's the same story, some "trusted" automated piece nobody stress tested gets flipped into a printer for the attacker.
meanwhile i'm sitting here with my bags down 40% doing absolutely nothing wrong and these audited protocols are getting drained like piggy banks 💀
love this industry, truly unwell behavior all around.

what scam or rug should i investigate next crypto bros?
