Ripple Wallet Hack

By The Neath | The Darkside Of Crypto | 1 Feb 2024

Ripple said co-founder Chris Larsen's wallet was hacked on January 31, stealing $112 million in XRP. After this remark, XRP fell more than 4% below $0.50, the lowest level since October 19, 2023. According to on-chain statistics, XRP whales have not exchanged their currencies despite the attack.

Santiment led XRP Ledger whale trades of $1 million or more the day following the price collapse. The data indicates 217 comparable deals. The altcoin's price rose the most since a US court ruled on July 13 and 14, 2023, that Ripple's secondary market sale of XRP does not violate securities regulations.

Santiment found these big whales peaceful. Since December 31, 2022, wallet addresses with at least 10 million XRP hold 67.2% of the supply, uncommon.

After Larsen's wallet address was taken, Ripple's senior administrators protected the money and XRP wallets. Larsen claims his XRP wallet was hacked but the Blockchain was undamaged. He informed cryptocurrency exchanges to freeze stolen XRP.

Ripple helped police uncover frozen cash. The squad monitors unused cash to fight cybercrime.

Cyber security is crucial, I believe we're in danger.(I guess I did "Sell the news, buy the rumor")
