According to a recent survey, bitcoin exchange-traded funds and other crypto assets increased the number of crypto billionaires by 95% last year.
According to New World Wealth and Henley & Partners, 172,300 people have more than $1 million in crypto assets, up from 88,200 last year. The number of pure bitcoin millionaires quadrupled to 85,400.
Crypto wealthy have risen to the top. Report: 325 crypto centimillionaires and 28 crypto billionaires have $100 million or more in crypto.
Since January, bitcoin ETFs have grown to over $50 billion in assets and attracted institutional investors.
Bitcoin rose 45% this year to $64,000. According to Henley & Partners, the market valuation of crypto assets is $2.3 trillion, up from $1.2 trillion last summer as other currencies have appreciated.
Five of the six new crypto billionaires established last year are bitcoin, “underscoring its dominant position when it comes to attracting long-term investors who buy large holdings,” according to Andrew Amoils, head of research for New World Wealth.
