BitMine Buys $70M in Ether Despite Market Drop

The corporation bought 7,080 Ether for $19.8 million on Monday after buying 16,693 ETH for $50.1 million over the weekend, according to Lookonchain statistics.

The buying maintains the firm's aggressive accumulation strategy to establish one of the largest corporate ETH stockpiles.

Industry trackers rank BitMine as the largest Ether-focused digital-asset treasury by far.

The corporation says it possesses 3.7 million ETH at $3,008 per token, underwater at current rates.

Purchases have not slowed under management. The company claims it is 62% of the way to controlling 5% of Ether supply.

Vanguard Allows Crypto-Linked ETFs and Mutual Funds After Years of Resistance

Vanguard, the world's second-largest asset manager, is allowing crypto-focused ETFs and mutual funds on its brokerage platform, breaking years of resistance that could bring mainstream money to Bitcoin, Ether, and other digital assets.

Bloomberg stated that the firm will allow investors can trade third-party ETFs that contain Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and Solana starting Tuesday if they meet regulatory conditions.

Vanguard's US brokerage platform now classifies crypto funds like “non-core” assets like gold.

The move affects crypto investors due to Vanguard's size. Vanguard manages $11 trillion and serves over 50 million clients, many of whom could not buy spot Bitcoin ETFs or other crypto wrappers through their Vanguard accounts.

Goldman Sachs to Buy Bitcoin ETF Innovator for $2B

Innovator Capital Management, a provider of defined-outcome exchange-traded funds, including a Bitcoin-linked product, will join Goldman Sachs' asset-management unit for $2 billion.

The deal, expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, is set to add roughly $28 billion in assets under supervision to Goldman’s asset-management arm.

That division reported $3.45 trillion in controlled assets at the end of the third quarter.

Goldman said the transaction will boost its array of active and defined-outcome ETFs, products that depend on options methods to cap losses and specify how much of an asset’s upside investors may capture over a certain period.

Crypto enthusiasts have noticed Innovator's structured Bitcoin exposure. The firm's QBF ETF, launched in February, tracks part of Bitcoin's performance using FLEX options tied to Bitcoin ETFs or the Cboe Bitcoin US ETF Index while limiting quarterly losses to 20%.

The current design lets investors take 71% of quarterly price gains. As of Friday, QBF held around $19.3 million in market value, according to Innovator.

Bitcoin Stays at $86k as Bond Selloff and Japan Rate Hike Worry Markets

Bitcoin traded about $86,000 at the Asia start on Tuesday as cryptocurrencies fell and global bonds fell, limiting regional market gains.

Risk appetite was shaken when the world's largest cryptocurrency fell more than 5% on Monday, momentarily falling below $85,000. It traded near $86,400 in Asia, 30% below its October peak.

Bitcoin had the greatest 24-hour wipeout, losing $251.69M. CoinGlass reported $111.31M in liquidations for Ethereum, $19.22M for SOL, and $14.99M for ZEC.

After Finding $4.6M in Exploits, Anthropic Says AI Can Hack Smart Contracts

Anthropic has shown that powerful AI systems can uncover blockchain app holes and transform them into millions of dollars in assaults, increasing concerns about DeFi's vulnerability.

In collaboration with MATS and Anthropic Fellows, the company evaluated AI agents on SCONE-bench (Smart CONtracts Exploitation), a benchmark based on 405 compromised smart contracts from 2020 to 2025.

Using 10 leading models in a simulated environment, the agents exploited just over half of the contracts, stealing $550.1m.

The scientists then looked solely at 34 contracts abused after March 1, 2025, the latest knowledge cutoff for these systems, to decrease the probability that models were recalling earlier instances.
