Blockade Games, the maker of Neon District have released one of their quarterly updates and it's causing some serious waves in the Play2Earn scene. It's sounding more and more like Neon District is going to be relaunching a much more fleshed out project in Q4 of 2021. You can, and should, read the full article located right here.

There is a lot to process here. I've long suspected that the humble cyberpunk pizza delivery game we know as Neon District was just the tip of a much larger and more fleshed out gaming system and this update all but confirms that. It's good there is an iceberg hidden here as the game has also seemingly been moving at a pace best described as glacial. Blockade Games would be rewarded greatly if they would decide to start dropping information to us fans more than once a quarter. Sure the discord exists but ... that's about as far as I'm willing to go there.

Honestly, hearing that NEON will stay the gold-standard currency in Neon District is a majorly good sign. This means that not only is all the equipment we are farming up theoretically valuable in the coming game, Neon is going to be what we want to build long-term. I could honestly see this result in a dip in crate sales but, long term, this is 100% great news.

What could possibly matter more than this? The Neon District UI has always been really bad and hearing they are addressing that in the most important place (the marketplace) is very encouraging. Aside from that Blockade is telling us we should all by playing the new and improved Neon District by Christmas and not only that but an expansion? Hype as hell.
